1) When beginning a class assignment the biggest difference between really trying to understand the assignment criteria and just simply trying to find the right answer is that you aren’t really putting your 100 % in the assignment. When trying to find the answer right away you aren’t really learning or remembering what your doing. When really trying to understand the assigned criteria you know what your looking for and understanding it, so when it comes to the day of the test you’ll ace the test or exam.
2) The difference between objective criticism and subjective criticism is that objective criticism is based on direct observation and usually has shared understandings of the assignment parameters. Subjective criticism is used when people describe personal impacts of images. We will mainly use objective criticism in our critiques because it is more based on a classroom-learning environment (which we are) because we can help each other with different ideas to improve on our artwork.
3) Cause and effect critique builds up on a descriptive one because it creates much more detail then the description part of the reading. In the reading it says, “ A cause and effect critique builds on this description…the design is very dynamic.” Also, the reading says, “ in a cause and effect critique, you discuss consequences as well as choice.
4) A value of holding a critique at the end of a project makes each and every student become a better artist because it helps people express new ideas to each other and to develop better artwork.
